Every teacher in the New York City Department of Education has received (or is receiving) a paper copy of a survey that we're supposed to fill out. At the top it says "GO GREEN!", with instructions on how to answer the survey online if you so choose.
Doing the survey online doesn't actually save any paper if the paper surveys have already been printed out!

Update for Manhattan bicyclists
Now that spring is on the way, it's time to dust off the bike!
Today's discovery: You know that part on the Hudson River bike path, around 125th St (near Fairway uptown) until the sewage treatment plant (or the reverse of that if you're going the other direction) where the bike path ends and you have to ride on streets? No longer! The West Harlem Piers Park is open, and the bike path is continuous all the way up (or down)! I think this means that the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway is complete on the West Side (though the website hasn't updated yet to reflect this). (The East Side will take longer. Stupid UN.) Between this and the new South Ferry Terminal, it's been a productive winter!
(Ok, apparently I wasn't the first person to discover this.)
