About 45 minutes after Shabbat ended tonight I went out and found an all-Hebrew flyer tape to the front door of my building inviting everyone to a mesibat chanukah at an apartment down the block. I thought it would be fun to go meet some of my Israeli neighbors (there are a ton of them in three neighboring buildings on my street). Then I looked at the bottom of the flyer and in small letters it said "yechi adoneinu moreinu...." Yipes. (Is Chabad targeting Israelis specifically?)
I decided to stay home and study instead (bleh) and around 9:00 two Chabad mitzvah mobiles blaring "mashiach! mashiach! mashiach! oy oy oy oy oy oy oy!" parked outside my window and blocked traffic on the whole street for a bit. The cars behind them were incensed, and much honking ensued. Then a bunch of other neighbors came out to gawk.
